Jerome Shaw
Jerome Shaw is a dynamic and seasoned travel writer, photographer, instructor, and the editor/owner of Travel Boldly. His passion for photography was ignited as a boy living the farm life in rural Nebraska, after being introduced to a 35mm camera by his older brother. After graduating from the University of Nebraska with a BFA in Art with an emphasis in photography cinema & three-dimensional design, Mr. Shaw set out to see the world as a travel photographer and writer. He's been traveling since experiencing his first taste of adventure while working on ski films in Aspen, Colorado.
Classically trained in black and white photography, Mr. Shaw now works mostly in color. He's had the pleasure of photographing and writing about places many of us only dream of -- from the natural beauty of Alaska to the beautiful women of Brazil. Over the course of Jerome's 30+ year career as a travel writer, photographer and instructor, he has visited 47/50 American States, over 25 countries, and 4 continents. His adventures include traveling The French Polynesian Islands on a Freighter to Everything but the Vegas Strip, from living in New Zealand to loving in South America -- to name just a few! More of his travel credits include: Russia, New Zealand, Greece, Fiji, Ukraine, BVI, Peru, Hawaii, Costa Rica, Finland, Canada, Bahamas, Australia, Mexico, and England. As a travel writer, Jerome boasts a long list of outstanding publishing credits that read like a who's who of the travel industry. He currently writes for both Confluence Denver and is the Denver International Travel Examiner of Examiner.com in addition to regional work and assignments abroad.
Between his many travels, Mr. Shaw has been an instructor in Photography and Marketing, as well as darkroom workshops. He's served as an instructor at Colorado Free University, Arvada Art Center, Denver Public Schools, and Boulder Lifelong Learning, to name a few!
Although he makes his home in the beautiful state of Colorado, Jerome is not finished traveling boldly yet! In 2013-2014 Jerome has planned to cross a couple more states off his travel wish list, visit more islands like Ireland and Iceland, and realize a dream of leading exciting photo tours in the mysterious, historical, and beautiful island of Cuba.
